Privacy Policy General
Hasbro (which means Hasbro (UK) Limited and its associated
companies) are committed to protecting your privacy and
treating your personal information in accordance with the
Data Protection laws applicable to the UK. This privacy
policy explains how your personal information will be
handled by us.

What information do we collect & how?
We primarily request your date of birth on the first page
to verify whether you need parental permission before fully
registering to on this site to be on our mailing list and
to also determine whether you qualify for the Monopoly
Championships and in which category of the Monopoly
Championships (Junior or Senior.) If you do not need
permission or when we obtain parental consent, on full
registration, we ask you for your name, e-mail, telephone
and other event specific information. The information
collected at registration enables us to contact you with
regular information on the Monopoly Championships either
by email or telephone. Certain information is collected
automatically as described later in this privacy policy.

Your information will be submitted over a secure server.

It is compulsory to submit your name, email address and
date of birth and to check the tick box agreeing to the
Terms and Conditions of the site and granting us
permission to contact you as the purpose of registration
on this website is to receive updates from us on the
MONOPOLY Championships. You can also select to receive
regular updates about MONOPOLY Products and other events
by checking the updates box. If you do not want to be
informed about Monopoly in this way, do not check this
box or cancel your registration by unsubscribing using
the link provided in each of our e-mail communications.

What do we do with the data?
We use the information we collect about you to answer your
enquiries, to provide a more personalised experience and
to update you on MONOPOLY products and events.

We may run surveys or competitions which you can choose to
participate in. In this context we may also use your
information to verify your identity and contact you (for
example, in the event you are a competition winner).

With your consent we may use the information to keep you
updated about changes to this website, new Monopoly
services and offers in conjunction with our affiliated
companies that we think you'll find valuable. Also, with
your consent we will share your information with the
venues where you will be playing in the Monopoly
championships. This is to enable the venue to allow you
entrance to the venue to take part in the Championships.

If you are a minor
The age for being deemed a minor is 15 years and under
and we have taken this into account on the initial
registration page of this site. If you are deemed a minor
in your country, then we are required to obtain verifiable
parental or guardian consent before we can collect and use
any of a minors personal information. Therefore we ask for
email verification from a parent or guardian to agree to
us collecting your data and your attendance at the events.
Please ask parents/guardian to review privacy policy/rules
of the tournament and terms and conditions so that they are
informed of what we collect and do with their childs
personal information.

The information we collect and what we do with it is as we
have described above. We may share such information with
venues to allow us to organise the events.

When you verify the registration by clicking on the email
link, the information is automatically inputted onto our
database. Your child's information may also be shared with
outside entities hired to assist us with internal web support
operations. These entities will not use the child's
information for any other purpose, and have agreed to
maintain confidentiality, security and integrity of all
personal information they obtain from us.

chosen to enter the Championships.

where any of our servers are hosted by one of our group
companies in one member state or one of our service providers
is situated in one member state and information is shared
with our group of companies in another member state. Further,

of example, this may happen where any of our servers are
hosted by one of our Hasbro Group companies in a country
outside the EEA or one of our service providers is located in

This will especially be the case if you win the Championships
and we have send your details for the World Championships. If
you require contact details of our other group companies,

countries may not have similar data protection laws to the EEA.
If we transfer your information outside the EEA in this way,
we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue
to be protected.

Other than the disclosures referred to in this policy,

permission unless we are legally entitled or obliged to do so
(for example, if required to do so by Court order or for the
purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.)

At each MONOPOLY REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, contestants will be asked to play 3 timed games of classic MONOPOLY (by the classic rules I’m afraid!)

The 4 contestants who score the highest points over the 3 rounds will qualify for the UK Championships early in 2009! The overall UK Champion will be jetting off to Las Vegas to represent the UK at the World Championships in 2009, and to try and win the $15,000USD prize money!

If you’re aged 8 to 15 you’re eligible to enter the Junior REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. You’ll have to play one game of classic MONOPOLY and the ‘richest’ person at the end of that game will go forward to the UK CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2009. The winner of this will win the ‘Top’ Junior prize of a multi-media system!
